Here’s a snapshot of why the panel of judges were impressed:

Claimant Team of the Year – Abuse Team
Our Abuse Team continues to act in some of the most complex and emotionally challenging child abuse cases in the country. This year, we secured one of the largest recent settlements in child abuse litigation £750,000 , following a High Court case where the defendant settled on the final day of trial. But our work goes beyond individual cases we’re driving systemic change. Recognised by The Legal 500 as “trailblazers” in child abuse litigation, our team consistently pushes the boundaries to achieve justice for survivors.

Claimant Lawyer of the Year – Amy Clowrey
Amy Clowrey, winner of the Modern Law Award (2023) and shortlisted as Rising Star in the Legal 500 Northern Powerhouse Awards (2024) , is recognised for her trauma-informed, survivor-first approach. An exceptional solicitor and fearless advocate, Amy has supported hundreds of survivors of child sexual abuse and exploitation. Her technical expertise and strategic leadership in complex abuse claims, group actions, and redress schemes set her apart. As Switalskis’ Training Principal, Amy is deeply committed to nurturing the next generation of lawyers, mentoring Solicitor Apprentices, Graduate Solicitor Apprentices, and newly qualified solicitors with both technical and emotional guidance.

Clinical Negligence Team of the Year
Our Clinical Negligence team acts with courage, compassion, and determination . We take on cases others may turn away, those deemed too complex, too sensitive, or too low in value. Frequently, we are instructed to progress matters abandoned by other firms lacking the expertise or capacity to continue. We give clients hope when others have told them they have none. Our work extends beyond the courtroom, bringing hidden issues into public view and empowering clients to speak out, or protecting their privacy when they choose not to. We’re also proud to be one of the few firms with recognised expertise in CQC prosecutions, mental health-related inquests, and broader inquest representation , areas that demand emotional resilience, legal precision, and an unwavering belief in accountability. Our fearless yet sensitive approach continues to define our practice and our purpose.

Congratulations to all the finalists - we’re proud to have such exceptional talent here at Switalskis.
