We’re thrilled to announce that we have been shortlisted for three awards at the upcoming Yorkshire Legal Awards 2026.

The categories we have been shortlisted in are:

  • Law Firm of the Year – Large
  • Partner of the Year – Amy Clowrey
  • Rising Star of the Year – Sandra Kowalska

As a continually growing firm, we’re delighted to see our firm and individuals recognised for their commitment and exceptional talent.

Here’s a snapshot of why the judges were impressed:

Law Firm of the Year – Large

Our Law Firm of the Year shortlist recognises the impact and ambition of Switalskis. Our recent success for clients spans some of the most complex and challenging areas of the law, from securing justice for survivors of abuse and supporting families affected by medical negligence, to helping clients navigate life-changing legal matters with compassion and expertise.

But our impact goes beyond individual cases. With more than £200,000 of free legal advice provided, we continue to invest in accessible services, working alongside charities, campaigners and professional organisations to improve access to justice and drive positive change. We’re beyond proud to be shortlisted in this category, highlighting our dedication to combining legal expertise with purpose to make positive change to our clients, our profession and our communities.

Partner of the Year – Amy Clowrey

We’re thrilled to see Amy Clowrey shortlisted for her expertise and influence, which has been recognised nationally. As a leading child abuse solicitor representing survivors of child sexual abuse, child sexual exploitation and grooming, she has supported hundreds of survivors in seeking justice and accountability.

Amy plays a key role in some of the most significant abuse cases of recent decades, including representing survivors of the Rotherham and West Yorkshire grooming scandals and contributing to the Independent Inquiry into Child Sexual Abuse, helping to shape national conversations around safeguarding and accountability. From achieving justice and influencing change, to championing our next generation of lawyers, Amy demonstrates the expertise, leadership, dedication and impact that makes her a standout candidate for Partner of the Year.

Rising Star of the Year – Sandra Kowalska

In less than two years, Sandra has transformed our contentious probate offering. From increasing new matters to helping grow the team, she truly reflects Switalskis core value of ‘Never Stand Still’.

Sandra’s commitment to clients truly sets her apart. She combines specialist expertise with a compassionate and pragmatic approach, supporting clients through some of the most difficult disputes of their lives.

Sandra is also passionate about improving the accessibility of contentious probate services, sharing her expertise through articles, social media and professional training. Her drive, expertise and commitment to developing the team make Sandra an exciting future leader in contentious probate.

Congratulations to all the finalists!
