Sandra is a senior associate solicitor and a contentious probate specialist at Switalskis with over 10 years of experience in litigation.

Sandra qualified as a solicitor practising general civil and commercial litigation. This means she has a practical and sensible approach to her work.

Since 2021, Sandra’s work has been focused on assisting clients with a wide range of disputes and issues which arise predominantly after an individual has died.

Sandra is a confident advocate, often representing clients in court proceedings or alternative dispute resolution, such as mediation.

Sandra has been recognised by the Legal 500 as having solid background in litigation enabling her to navigate clients through complicated processes as cost-effectively as possible ’.

Sandra is an associate member of the Association of Contentious Trust and Probate Specialists (ACTAPS), having successfully completed the ACTAPS Diploma Course.

Sandra understands that dealing with a disagreement following the passing of a loved one is likely one of the most challenging times in her clients’ life.

EXPERIENCE

Sandra can assist clients with all issues which may arise after someone has passed away, by a way of example:

  • Acting for all eligible claimants in claims pursuant to Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependants) Act 1975. Sandra has a keen interest and particular experience in successfully defending such claims.
  • Claims relating to the validity of testamentary documents, particularly in cases where the testator’s capacity is in question or undue influence is alleged.
  • Sandra has also represented clients involved in claims relating to various property issues, such as the challenge of lifetime transactions, actions relating to the Trusts of Land and Appointment of Trustees Act 1996 and the legal doctrines of estoppel.
  • Issues relating to the alleged breach of obligations by trustees or personal representatives, including applications for directions or removal.
  • Sandra can also advise clients involved in contentious proceedings in the Court of Protection.
