In July 2026, Lockwood was convicted of four counts of indecent assault against two boys. The offences took place during the 1970s and 1980s, when Lockwood was working as a teacher at schools in Kirklees.

Lockwood taught at several schools in the area, including Whitcliffe Mount High School and Batley School for Boys. Both survivors were pupils at schools where he worked and are now in their 50s and 60s.

Further convictions against Keith Lockwood

Lockwood was already serving a 23-year prison sentence after being convicted of 23 child sexual abuse offences against other boys. Those offences also took place during the 1970s, 1980s and 1990s.

Following his latest convictions in July 2026, a further 15 months was added to his existing sentence.

At the sentencing hearing, the judge commended the two survivors for coming forward and giving evidence. The judge said they had given their evidence with dignity, honesty and determination and recognised the considerable public service they had performed by speaking about what happened to them.
