Recent Settlements

Recent settlements include:

  • A road accident which caused life-changing physical and head injuries, justifying a multi-million-pound compensation settlement
  • An accident on commercial fishing vessel involving a severe lower limb injury and complex arguments about liability
  • criminal injuries claim for a client who was the victim of a random attack when she was a child, causing a significant head injury
  • A road accident which caused significant internal and orthopaedic injuries to the passenger.  Defence that the driver blacked out at the wheel and that driver was not negligent because could not have foreseen the black out.
  • Motorbike accident.   Rider accused of being nearly twice the legal speed limit for the road.  Severe internal injuries, multiple orthopaedic injuries, psychological injury and mild traumatic brain injury.  My client had not been able to return to employment.  Settlement negotiated.
  • Trip over defective paving slab outside a pub.  Facial injuries sustained upon falling to the ground.  Pub denied liability initially claiming that the land was not theirs and then claiming that they had an adequate inspection system in place.  I started court proceedings and eventually negotiated a settlement without going to Trial.
