Sana is a Graduate Solicitor Apprentice, in the Court of Protection team, based in Huddersfield.

APPROACH

Sana takes a warm, approachable and compassionate approach to her work, recognising that Court of Protection proceedings can be unfamiliar and daunting for clients and their families. She takes the time to understand each individual’s circumstances and communicates clearly and accessibly, ensuring that clients feel supported and remain at the heart of the legal process.

Sana supports the team on a range of matters involving best interests decision-making, deprivation of liberty and section 21A applications under the Mental Capacity Act 2005.

As a Graduate Solicitor Apprentice, Sana assists with the preparation of applications, court bundles and supporting documents. She reviews medical records, prepares summaries of key documents and assists with the progression of cases through the Court of Protection.

Sana also undertakes client visits and regularly liaises with Local Authorities, the Official Solicitor, Relevant Persons Representatives and family members as part of the conduct of proceedings.

EXPERIENCE

Sana studied at the University of Leeds, gaining her LLB in Law in 2021.

She joined the firm in 2022 as a Paralegal in the Childcare team, gaining experience working with parents and Children’s Guardians in proceedings under the Children Act.

Sana began her Graduate Solicitor Apprenticeship in 2024 and has since completed seats in Residential Conveyancing and Clinical Negligence, before joining the Court of Protection team.

Sana is currently completing the Solicitors Qualifying Examination (SQE) alongside her apprenticeship and is due to qualify as a solicitor in 2027.
