Kimberley has worked in personal injury and medical negligence since she qualified as a solicitor and has focused exclusively on medical negligence since January 2022.

She has experience in a variety of cases including:

• Delay in diagnosing fractures and ligament injuries
• Slipped upper femoral epiphysis claims
• Delays in cancer diagnosis

Kimberley is also leading on work relating to the mismanagement of dopamine agonist medications, including ropinirole and pramipexole, as well as aripiprazole. This work focuses on claims arising from the inappropriate prescribing and management of these medications.

EXPERIENCE

Kimberley recently settled a case whereby medication was unnecessarily prescribed by a GP. The client suffered an impulse to gamble as a side effect of the medication and subsequently had a large financial loss.

She recently settled a medical negligence claim involving the inappropriate prescription of dopamine agonist medication by a GP. The medication caused the client to develop compulsive gambling urges, a recognised impulse-control disorder associated with certain medications that affect dopamine receptors. This resulted in significant financial losses and highlights the serious consequences of medication mismanagement, including inadequate prescribing decisions, failure to warn patients of potential side effects and insufficient monitoring of adverse drug reactions.

Kimberley has also recently settled a case in relation to a pneumothorax following acupuncture which was caused by the wrong size needle being used.
