Charlotte is a solicitor in our Criminal law team.
Charlotte practices across multiple areas of criminal law, with a particular specialisism in criminal road traffic matters, including proposed disqualifications, exceptional hardship applications, dangerous driving (causing serious injury) and so on. She also assists clients facing criminal charges including but not limited to, assaults (particularly on emergency workers), dishonesty offences such as theft and burglary and stalking / controlling and coercive behaviour.
Charlotte is highly experienced in working with vulnerable clients and those with complex personal circumstances, including mental health needs. As Charlotte has previous experience working in the Crown Court, she can explain and reassure clients regarding the court processes and procedures.
She has had previous seats within the Commercial Property team, and with the Personal Injury team, where she worked with a number of fee earners on claims involving RTAs, occupiers' liability, product liability, accidents at work and accidents in public places.
Charlotte is a member of Leeds Junior Lawyer Division, and has volunteered at the Leeds Beckett Law Clinic and Citizens Advice bureau in Barnsley.
Charlotte is empathetic and proactive in any work undertaken. Taking time to understand and delve deep into the task to ensure all options are explored to ensure the best, most appropriate outcomes.
Charlotte recovered £18,000 compensation for a client who sustained a blow to his head with laceration along with bruising, contusion and a sprain to his left elbow and left shoulder and contusion to the outer of his left thigh and hip after a Road Traffic Accident. Settlement was reached after negotiations took place, securing a better deal for the client.
