The accident and injuries

On 4 October 2025, our client had parked their vehicle and was standing behind it while another driver attempted to reverse park nearby.

As the other vehicle manoeuvred, it first collided with the rear bumper of our client's car. It is alleged that the driver then accelerated into our client while they were standing as a pedestrian, trapping them between the two vehicles before they were knocked to the ground.

The driver left the scene following the incident.

The defendant has since been charged with four offences:

• Perverting the Course of Justice
• Causing Grievous Bodily Harm with Intent / Wounding with Intent to do Grievous Bodily Harm
• Driving Without Due Care and Attention
• Failing to Stop and Report a Road Traffic Collision

Following the collision, our client reported pain affecting multiple areas of their body, including the left hip and thigh, abdomen and lower back, with pain radiating down their left leg and ongoing pain across both hips. Initially unable to bear weight following the collision, they continue to report ongoing symptoms which have worsened since the accident.

Although investigations into the full extent of the injuries are ongoing, our client continues to experience pain and symptoms that affect their everyday life. They have had multiple GP appointments but have not been provided with meaningful relief.

Independent medical evidence is currently being obtained to assess the long-term effects of the injuries. As part of the claim, we will consider any recommendations for further treatment, rehabilitation, pain management, therapies or support services needed to maximise our client's recovery and assist with their ongoing symptoms.

As investigations continue, the full extent of the impact on our client's independence, quality of life and future functioning is still being assessed. At this stage, the records do not confirm any fractures or acute structural injuries arising from the collision, so the claim will continue to be developed in line with the available evidence and any further medical opinion obtained.
