Witness appeal - Roland Simmons

Switalskis are appealing for witnesses following the recent conviction of Roland Simmons from Chartham in Kent who was a staff member at Guestling House in Hastings.
Simmons was convicted at Lewes Crown Court in April 2026 for 10 counts of indecent assault against four minors between the period of 1974 and 1979.
Simmons used his position of trust to abuse children under his care.
Switalskis are currently representing survivors who have instructed us to bring a claim against the local authority, East Sussex County Council for the sexual abuse they were subjected to by Simmons whilst under the local authority’s care.
We are appealing for any witnesses who may be able to assist with our client’s claim, whether that be other residents of the home or staff members.
The culture at the time of the abuse was not to speak out, especially against those in a position of trust which prevented our client from disclosing for decades.
