Switalskis’ commercial property team has marked its next phase of growth with a trio of appointments, including that of experienced director Sally Christey.

The nine-strong commercial property team works with regional and national clients, including developers, landlords and investors across the retail, office and industrial sectors. It has recently welcomed director, Sally Christey, and solicitors Mathew Abiagom and Cyman Kaur to meet client demand across Yorkshire and beyond.

Sally Christey brings over 20 years’ experience advising clients on complex commercial property transactions. In her leadership role, Sally will help steer the team’s continued growth while working closely with clients on high‑value acquisitions, disposals and development projects.

Sally says: “Yorkshire’s property market moves fast, and Switalskis is in a great position to help clients take advantage of new opportunities as they arise. I’m genuinely excited to join a team with real depth of experience and a down-to-earth commercial approach”.

The team also welcomes solicitor Mathew Abiagom, who brings several years’ experience working with clients across private and public sectors. Mathew specialises in acquisitions and disposals, development projects subject to planning, landlord and tenant work, refinancing and secured lending. Mathew says: “Switalskis has a strong reputation for combining technical excellence with a genuine client-focused approach, which aligns closely with how I practise as a solicitor.”

Solicitor Cyman Kaur joins Switalskis’ commercial property team having joined as a trainee in 2023 where she spent an extended first seat within the department. After gaining wider experience across personal injury, family, and wills and probate, Cyman chose to return to commercial property. Cyman says: “The work is fast‑moving and varied, from leases and refinancing to purchases, and I’m excited to be involved in a range of really interesting cases. I’m looking forward to developing further at Switalskis.”

John Durkan , CEO at Switalskis, says: “The appointment of Sally, Mathew and Cyman shows our commitment to investing in experienced leadership and talented new recruits. They each bring valuable experience and energy to the team, strengthening our ability to support clients with their increasingly complex commercial property matters as the department continues to grow.”
