Teacher convicted of abusing pupils

A teacher who worked at a school in North Yorkshire has been convicted of abusing female pupils.
Jonathan Clayton was working at the school as a supply teacher when he abused the girls who were aged between seven and eleven. He was sentenced yesterday at Teesside Crown Court to a term of imprisonment of eight and a half years.
Issues had arisen during the trial as the school which employed him were unaware that there had been a previous allegation made against him.
