Rhiannon joined Switalskis in 2016 and started her solicitor apprenticeship in 2021. She is a member of the firm’s Court of Protection Health and Welfare team.

Rhiannon assists barrister Michael Kennedy in applications made to the Court of Protection where Switalskis act for the protected party or any other interested person, such as a family member.

Her work is often on cases where the firm represents the protected party in Section 21A challenges and s15 best interests applications. Rhiannon prepares a range of court documents, witness statements, and visit clients.

Rhiannon also assists in matters relating to the Inherent Jurisdiction and the Mental Health Act. 

She is a trained Dementia Friend. 

APPROACH

Rhiannon is passionate about ensuring that the rights of vulnerable adults that lack capacity are at the forefront of the court process. She always tries to make sure that each client’s voice can be heard, and that their views are fully communicated to the court. Rhiannon endeavours to work pragmatically with the other parties so that there can be a positive outcome for the client.

EXPERIENCE

Rhiannon’s career in the legal sector has spanned both mental health law and Court of Protection. She enjoys working on cases that have a cross over.
