Ellie is a Graduate Solicitor Apprentice in the Court of Protection team, assisting Director Michael Kennedy on complex health and welfare matters.
She offers support in a range of Court of Protection proceedings, including matters concerning capacity, best interests’ decisions and deprivation of liberty. Ellie assists with drafting applications, preparing court bundles, reviewing records and evidence, and producing summaries of key documents.
Ellie regularly liaises with clients, family members, local authorities, healthcare professionals, and other parties involved in proceedings. She also undertakes client visits and meetings, helping to build strong relationships and ensuring clients are kept informed throughout the legal process.
Ellie approaches her work with enthusiasm, attention to detail and a compassionate understanding of the challenges faced by vulnerable individuals and their families. She recognises that health and welfare matters can be highly sensitive and emotionally difficult for those involved.
When working with clients, Ellie aims to provide a friendly, professional, and supportive service. She is committed to explaining complex legal processes in a clear and accessible way, helping clients and their families understand their options and feel reassured throughout proceedings.
