Steph Potter , a solicitor in our wills and probate department, has achieved Accredited Lifetime Lawyer status. The Lifetime Lawyer accreditation recognises legal professionals who have specialist knowledge and hands on experience in supporting older and vulnerable clients with sensitive legal matters.

Accredited members of the Lifetime Lawyers Association

This accreditation highlights Steph and the firm’s commitment to ensuring everyone has access to high quality legal advice tailored to their needs. The accreditation is awarded through the Lifetime Lawyers organisation, formerly Solicitors for the Elderly.

Steph first worked in legal services in 2012 and qualified as a solicitor in wills and probate in 2023. She advises her clients on a range of private client matters including wills, probate, trusts, lasting powers of attorney, intestacies and care fee planning.

What does it mean to be an Accredited Lifetime Lawyer?

Becoming an Accredited Lifetime Lawyer is a significant professional achievement within the private client legal sector. To gain her accreditation, Steph had to demonstrate a high level of technical expertise, practical experience and an understanding of the issues affecting older and potentially vulnerable people.

Accredited members are trained to provide clear, compassionate and tailored advice, particularly in areas such as:

  • Writing and updating wills
  • Estate and inheritance planning
  • Lasting powers of attorney
  • Probate and estate administration
  • Trusts and asset protection
  • Care fee planning
  • Mental capacity issues

The accreditation also reflects a commitment to maintaining the highest professional standards and continuing legal education in this specialist area of law.

For our clients, being advised by an Accredited Lifetime Lawyer gives added reassurance. They know they’re getting specialist help from a solicitor with recognised expertise and an understanding of the often sensitive nature of later life legal planning.

Supporting clients with confidence and clarity

Steph Potter is regularly commended by her clients on Trustpilot for her approachable and supportive manner, helping clients navigate complex and emotional legal decisions. Her work focuses on making estate planning straightforward, ensuring clients fully understand their options and future arrangements.

This latest accreditation further enhances the strength of Switalskis’ award-winning wills and probate team, which is recognised for offering their clients clear, practical legal advice with empathy and professionalism.

The importance of specialist later life legal advice

As families face increasingly complex financial and personal circumstances, specialist advice in later life planning has become more important than ever. Issues such as blended families, protecting vulnerable beneficiaries, planning for future care needs and ensuring wishes are clearly documented all require careful legal guidance.

Accredited Lifetime Lawyers are trained not only in the technical legal aspects of these matters, but also in communicating sensitively and effectively with clients and their families.

Steph Potter’s accreditation reflects both her personal commitment to client care and Switalskis’ ongoing dedication to providing high-quality legal support to individuals and families planning for the future.
