Serious injury claim following dangerous driving collision in Huddersfield
By Sam McFadyen , Tammy Johnson
Our Serious Injury and Brain Injury teams are representing two clients who sustained life-changing injuries in the same road traffic collision in Huddersfield. Their claims, which are ongoing, arise from an incident in which another driver drove through a red light at high speed before colliding with their vehicle.

The collision has had a significant impact on both clients. One lost consciousness at the scene and continues to require ongoing support as part of her recovery, while her partner was ejected from the vehicle and is pursuing a related brain injury claim. We are supporting both clients as they seek compensation to help them access the rehabilitation, treatment and ongoing care they need.
At the time of the collision, our clients' vehicle was stationary at traffic lights, waiting to proceed through a junction. When the lights changed to green and they began to move forward, another driver entered the junction through a red light at an estimated speed of 60–70mph in a 30mph zone.
Following the collision, the defendant reportedly attempted to leave the scene but was arrested by police. CCTV and independent dashcam footage captured the circumstances of the collision, providing important evidence in both the criminal and civil proceedings.
The defendant later pleaded guilty to causing serious injury by dangerous driving and obstructing or resisting a constable in the execution of their duty. Liability for the collision has also been admitted in the civil claim.
Our Serious Injury and Brain Injury teams continue to support both clients as their claims progress. We are working to secure compensation that reflects the impact the collision has had on their lives while ensuring they have access to the rehabilitation, specialist treatment and ongoing support they need both now and in the future.
