Our commitment to dementia-friendly legal support

At Switalskis, we are committed to supporting some of the most vulnerable people in our communities, including those living with dementia and Alzheimer’s, and their families.

In September, we invited colleagues across our business to become Dementia Friends, with the aim of training 100 colleagues throughout September. We are proud to share that we have exceeded this target, with over 100 members of our team completing the training. With over a quarter of our colleagues being dementia friends we’re confident we can help support client’s living with dementia or Alzheimer's.

Becoming a Dementia Friend is a simple but meaningful step. It helps our colleagues gain a better understanding of what it is like to live with dementia and how even small changes in the way we communicate, and support people can make a real difference.

For our clients, this means:

  • More understanding interactions – our colleagues are better equipped to communicate with sensitivity and patience.
  • Tailored support – we can adapt our approach to meet the specific needs of clients and families affected by dementia.
  • Greater reassurance – families can feel confident that their loved ones will be treated with dignity, respect and compassion.

This training enhances the way we work and strengthens our ability to offer support that goes beyond legal advice. Whether clients come to us for help with Wills and Lasting Powers of Attorney , care issues, or other legal matters, they can be assured that we recognise the challenges dementia brings and are here to guide them with empathy as well as expertise.

At Switalskis, our purpose is to help people at times when they are often most vulnerable. By taking part in the Dementia Friends initiative, our colleagues are making a clear commitment to providing the right support for clients and families living with dementia.
