Everyone should be able to access legal advice in a way that works for them. If you are Deaf or hard of hearing, or if you have a speech impairment, we understand that using a standard telephone call may not always be the easiest way to contact us.

At Switalskis our medical negligence team are committed to making our services as accessible as possible and will always look to make reasonable adjustments to support clear communication throughout your case.

Email is often the simplest way to start a conversation and share information at your own pace. You can contact us directly using our usual email address or via our online enquiry form.

If you let us know your communication needs early on, we can make sure everything is set up in the right way from the start of your case.

Tell us what works for you

If you prefer to communicate in another way, please tell us. We regularly support clients who use a range of communication methods, including:

  • Email updates instead of phone calls
  • Text messages for quick communication
  • Video calls with captions enabled
  • Written summaries after meetings
  • British Sign Language (BSL) interpreters where needed

We will always try to adapt our approach so that you can access the information and support you need in a way that feels comfortable.

British Sign Language (BSL) interpreters

If you use British Sign Language (BSL), we can support communication by arranging a qualified BSL interpreter for meetings, conferences and other key stages of your case.

Where an interpreter is needed, your legal representative will discuss this with you and explain how it will work, along with your options.

We will make sure you understand the process fully and that communication support is put in place where it is needed to help you take part in your case effectively.

Accessibility is part of how we work

We recognise that clear communication is essential when dealing with legal issues, particularly at what can already be a difficult time.

We are committed to removing barriers wherever possible and making sure you can contact us in a way that suits your needs.

If you have any questions about accessibility or would like to discuss how we can support you, please get in touch. We are here to help.
