Lesley is a member of the medical negligence management board, attending quarterly meetings and providing updates on strategy, risk and professional support issues. She is also an accredited fellow member of APIL, regularly drafting and delivering in-house and external training.

APPROACH

Lesley provides support to help sustain profitability, staff wellbeing and excellence in client care through engaging with staff to foster a culture of operational engagement.

She helps analyse management information to develop and support the teams increasingly effective and efficient risk management processes.

Lesley works to ensure key risk management messages are communicated effectively, and related processes and strategies are embedded in our culture.

She also helps with development of systems to provide excellence in mentoring, risk management and service delivery. Enhancing outcomes for clients and ensure that no lawyer acts alone and works within an exceptional support and mentoring environment.

EXPERIENCE

  • Lesley is driven to help Switalskis become a leading national law firm with clinical negligence and personal injury excellence.
  • She was part of the team carrying out the due diligence and integration involved with Atherton Godfrey and Pryers which has resulted in strategic growth with Switalskis’ clinical negligence department being one of the largest, most experienced claimant teams in the country.
  • Advisory on ADR, costs and group approach to several claims, particularly Nottingham maternity claims and Rotherham child sexual abuse claims.
  • Prior to Switalskis, Lesley ran her own consulting law firm, advising on technical and operational performance.
  • A recognised legal commentor on high profile injury cases and developments in the law with the BBC, The Times, Law Society Gazette, APIL, Global Legal Post, Solicitors Journal (and others); trained and presenter for NatWest, RBS, Lloyds, Barclays, Clydesdale/Yorkshire Bank, Legal Futures, ICAEW, Manchester, Liverpool and London Law Societies, Bond Solon (and others).
