We have a position available within the Care team based at our South Yorkshire offices in Sheffield and Doncaster, for a post graduate student looking to start their legal career.

The role is full time and we would consider someone wishing to take on a legal apprenticeship.

About the Role

The role will provide valuable support and assistance to our fee earning staff and will be under the direct supervision of Director Jenny Heckingbottom.

Duties will include but are not be limited to :

  • Reading and preparing documents;
  • Attending upon clients in person and over the telephone with and without other senior members of staff (after training) ;
  • Sitting behind Counsel at Court hearings;
  • Telephone calls and arrangement of client visits ;
  • Assistance with LAA Funding applications and extensions.

Candidates should be willing to travel when necessary as client or court meetings can be across Yorkshire. A collaborative attitude and willingness to help others within the team is an essential requirement.

A good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Outlook and Excel are also essential as is attention to detail and being able to work as part of a larger team across the company.

Candidates may be expected to do their own typing and may occasionally be asked to help others out with administrative tasks (including typing), though this role is primarily a legal role to support our solicitors and other fee earners in the department.

A working knowledge of the Legal Services Portal, Bighand, and SOS Case Management would be highly beneficial.
