Lisa Swales joins Leeds Powerchair FC “in the box”
By Lisa Swales
Lisa Swales, Director and Solicitor in our Medical Negligence team has recently featured on the “3 in the box… again” podcast hosted by Leeds Powerchair FC.
Switalskis have been long-term supporters of the football club since the very early days. The team now have over 40 players and provides opportunities to those with a high level of impairment to access the game of football.
Lisa is experienced in all areas of medical negligence, with a particular focus on birth injury claims including cerebral palsy.
In the episode she explains what services the team offers, including disability and injury claims. She also went on to explain who the team can support, the range of help they can provide and the experience of the team.
When asked why Switalskis support Leeds Powerchair FC, Lisa said: “Our head of department, Suzanne Munroe acted for a client back in 2017 and he had cerebral palsy. It was through him that Switalskis first became involved with the club. Suzanne saw first-hand how sport could make a difference to people with disabilities, helping them to make friends and have a wider social life, ultimately improving their confidence. Through our claim we were able to help the client buy the power chair he needed to play with the club and Suzanne was really inspired by seeing how much of a difference the sport made to his life.”
At Switalskis we strive to help make positive changes to our clients and their families lives. We believe that a successful claim is more than just compensation, but also helping to provide access to the support our clients need in order to have the best quality of life possible.
