We recently received confirmation that we have retained all of our firm’s rankings in the Chambers & Partners legal directory. This impartial guide to Leading UK Lawyers covers 50 geographical regions throughout the UK and a number of different legal specialisms. The process includes a detailed submission and interviews with a number of clients, barristers and other legal specialists that we deal with in the process of managing cases for our clients.

The Chambers & Partners guide is intended to help clients make informed decisions about choosing the right lawyer and is also used by lawyers to refer clients with more specialised needs to ensure that they can find the right advice for their needs. Our updated rankings will now appear in the 2021 edition of the guide.

This year we have received the following rankings:

  • Clinical Negligence – Our teams in Huddersfield and Sheffield both retained their Band 2 rankings, with individual recognition for a number of our lawyers. In the individual rankings, there was recognition for Directors Suzanne Munroe, Janet Baker (both remain as Band 1) and Sarah Tipton Walker (Band 2). Associate Solicitor Natalie Cosgrove was also highlighted as an ‘Associate to Watch’.
    • Referees said of the department:
      • “Solicitors are very approachable, clear in their direction and very client-centred”.
      • “They are so efficient and very consistent in their approach”.
      • “They see the wider picture and the long-term impact on the client”.
      • Another spoke of Suzanne Munroe’s “approach of being client-focused and delivering complex information in an accessible way”.
      • Sarah Tipton Walker was described as “very proactive about getting help for her clients“.
      • Natalie Cosgrove was described of as a “force of nature, loved by her clients, who runs and wins difficult cases. She frequently assists with suicide claims, consent issues and surgical negligence cases, including negligence related to cosmetic surgery”.
  • Crime – Our Crime team retained its Band 1 status as one of the leading departments in the region.
  • Court of Protection (Health & Welfare) – Alison Kaye was again ranked in Band 3 and referees said that “She is always very organised, is experienced and has sound judgement”. The department was praised for its approach – “They are a strong team with extensive experience and are a real force to be reckoned with”.
  • Mental Health – Although firms are not ranked in this area of work, Michael Kennedy retains his Band 1 status as a Mental Health specialist.

Ever since we were founded in 1993 by Stephen Switalski, first-class client care has been at the heart of all that we do. Many of our clients – especially those in the areas listed above – find themselves vulnerable and in need of very specialised legal advice. We see legal guides as offering peace of mind to our clients over the level of service they can expect from us.

If you need help or legal advice in any of the areas listed above, or any of our other services, call us on 0800 138 0458 or contact us through the website to discuss your circumstances.
