To support Action for Brain Injury Week, staff at Switalskis’ Yorkshire offices took part in Hats for Headway on Tuesday 9 May. Staff across all of our Yorkshire offices were encouraged to come in to work in their wackiest hats in return for donation to Headway – the brain injury association. Money raised during Action for Brain Injury week will help make a huge difference to the lives of brain injury survivors.
A Hats for Headway event will be taking place across the UK on Friday 12 May. During the event, Headway are running a competition for the best individual and corporate photos, which can be searched for using the hashtag #HatsForHeadway on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram. For more inspiration, why not view our best photos by visiting our Facebook or Twitter pages!
What is Headway?
“Brain injury can challenge every aspect of your life – walking, talking, thinking and feeling – and the losses can be severe and permanent. It can mean losing both the life you once lived and the person you once were”. (www.headway.org.uk)
Headway is a UK-wide charity that works to improve life after brain injury. They have a fantastic network of more than 125 groups and branches across the UK, providing essential services and information to patients, their families and carers, as well as to professionals who work with brain injury survivors.
Switalskis Director Mark Hollinghurst is chair of the Yorkshire East Coast branch of Headway, supporting people who have suffered brain injuries in Scarborough, Whitby and surrounding areas.
