Steph is responsible for writing wills and lasting powers of attorney. She deals with registrations of lasting powers of attorney and enduring powers of attorney. Steph also makes applications for grants of probate and grants of letters of administration, as well as being able to deal with the full administration of estates. Steph advises on inheritance tax, tax planning, care fee planning and trusts.

Steph has previous work experience in the life assurance industry and local government. She previously worked at the City of York Council as a Legal Officer dealing with right-to-buy sales, shared ownership sales, tree preservation orders and deferred payment agreements for care fees. She completed her training contract at Hethertons Solicitors in York, completing seats in dispute resolution, wills and probate, and commercial property.
Steph completed her LLB (Hons) Law degree at the University of York with a 2:1 classification. She then completed her LLM Legal Practice (Solicitors) degree at BPP University in Leeds with a Merit grade.

What can clients expect from you? Clients can expect an efficient and friendly service. I appreciate that seeing a solicitor can be daunting, so I try to make the process as easy as possible. What do you love about your job? I enjoy being able to get to know my clients and put their minds at ease by ensuring that their wishes are properly documented. What are your interests outside work? I currently have an allotment, which takes up a lot of my time on the weekends. I also enjoy running, socialising and music as well as staying up to date with current affairs.
