More about Ruth
We asked Ruth: Q: What do you enjoy most about your job? Q: What does your job involve day-to-day? Q: Why did you choose to specialise in Clinical Negligence? Q: What are your interests outside work?
A: When we get a successful result for the client, whether it be answers to their concerns, an apology, peace of mind, or compensation. It’s great when clients come back and show you how the compensation has changed their lives for the better.
A: Dealing with all of the aspects of running Clinical Negligence cases, including: taking initial instructions, analysing merits of cases, applying for and reviewing medical records, instructing medical experts, analysing reports, advising clients, negotiating offers to settle and issuing proceedings at Court.
A: This area of law is about helping individuals who have been wronged and often left in a vulnerable position as a result. I am passionate about access to justice so, for me, it is about fighting for my clients. I also wanted to utilise the scientific and medical aspects of my first degree (BSc (Hons) Veterinary Science) where I developed an analytical approach and medical knowledge applicable to clinical negligence cases.
A: Climbing, running, badminton, aerial trapeze/aerial rope and walking my ex-racing greyhound. I’m a member of Ranmoor Badminton Club and play for their league team.
