Rhiannon assists the Court of Protection team in all matters to help promote the rights of vulnerable adults who lack capacity. She works closely with Michael Kennedy, frequently in relation applications made pursuant to Section 21A of the Mental Capacity Act. Due to her time working in the Mental Health Department, she has a particular interest in mental health crossover cases and the complexities these clients may face.

Rhiannon studied Chemistry at Bangor University. She left university in 2014 and started in the law profession full time as a secretary, in a family law firm, in Surrey. She joined our Court of Protection team as a secretary in June 2016 before being made a paralegal in October 2017. She worked as a paralegal in the Mental Health department from April 2018 – April 2019, before coming back to the Court of Protection team.
Rhiannon is also a trained Dementia Friend.

We asked Rhiannon: Q: What do you enjoy most about your role? Q: What are your interests outside of work?
A: I love meeting with clients and building rapport with them to ascertain their wishes and feelings. I am a good listener and always want to try to see the situation from the client’s point of view in order to understand their wishes. I love working with people, and this role allows me to meet people from all walks of life.
A: Outside of work, I am an ardent rugby union fan. I also enjoy reading, sewing and have an interest in local industrial architecture. Whenever I can, I love to spend time with friends and family, especially my two young nieces
