Nichola has experience in both children law and Court of Protection health and welfare. She is an Accredited Legal Representative.

Since 2016 Nichola has focused her work on the Court of Protection. She represents protected parties and family members in both section 21a Mental Capacity Act 2005 challenges and section 15/16 Mental Capacity 2005 cases.  Nichola has also represented vulnerable people in cases under the Inherent Jurisdiction.

Nichola leads the firm’s Court of Protection health and welfare team in our York office.

EXPERIENCE

  • Represented KF in Hull City Council v KF (by her litigation friend AI) [2022] EWCOP 33. This case examined KF’s dying wish to have unsupervised contact with her abusive partner
