More about Lisa

Children Law Accredited Solicitor

Q: Why did you want to be a Child Care Solicitor?
A: Having qualified as a criminal barrister I “fell” into care work on becoming dual qualified and never looked back.

Q: What do you do in your role at Switalskis?
A: Solicitor-Advocate specialising in Public Law Children Act work; I advise and represent parents, carers and children in Child Care proceedings. I am also a Director and the Liaison with Legal Aid Agency for VhCCs (very high cost cases).

Q: What do you love about your job?
A: Every day is different. Because of the nature of the work I feel I make a difference in the life of every client I work for.

Q: What can clients expect from you?
A: A hard-working and passionate advocate with the enthusiasm to represent the client to the utmost of my ability.

Q: What do your clients like about you?
A: My abilities as a Solicitor Advocate – I represent my clients from the first appointment to final hearing. My advice is always honest and delivered in plain English and I will “take on” the local authority when appropriate.

Q: What are your ambitions?
A: I hope to one day obtain a Judicial post.

Q: Which of your achievements are you most proud of?
A: My daughter.

Q: Which teams do you support?
A: Lancashire County Cricket Club (I know, the wrong side of the Pennines!) and Manchester United FC (ditto!).

Q: Are you involved with any organisations outside of work?
A: I am chair of Families Forward, an organisation that provides supervised contact services to families going through family breakdown and am on the Board of Leeds Jewish Housing Association.

Q: Can you tell us about some of your favourite things?
A: I love travelling to New York and Florence, Agatha Christie’s books and Disney animations.
