More about Linda

We asked Linda:

Q: How long have you worked in the legal profession?
A: I began my legal career in 1989 and joined the Switalskis Wills, Trusts and Probate team in December 2007.

Q: What do you do in your role at Switalskis?
A: Work with my clients to prepare Wills, Lasting Powers of Attorneys and applications for Grant of Probate.

Q: What do you love about your job?
A: I love that I meet a wide variety people and no two days are ever the same.

Q: What can clients expect from you?
A: Clients can rely on me to do my utmost to provide them with a good service and to provide them with the documentation they require.

Q: What do your clients like about you?
A: I would hope my clients feel that I am polite, sympathetic, professional, friendly and put them at ease in sometimes uneasy or sad situations.

Q: What drew you to your specialism?
A: I originally worked as a secretary in a Family and Probate department. My colleague there decided to join Switalskis to build up a new probate department, so I seized the opportunity to join her as her assistant and to learn and progress to build up my own case load.

Q: What did you want to do when you were a child?
A: I would have loved to have been an occupational therapist, assisting people who have been injured or poorly to learn how to deal with everyday tasks again and rehabilitate back into a normal lifestyle. I think the caring nature that I possess is required in my job in a similar way to therapy.

Q: Which of your achievements are you most proud of?
A: I am most proud of my family. I have a wonderful husband and two superb sons who are growing into fine young men. I believe that without the love, support and guidance that I have given them, they would not have believed in themselves sufficiently to achieve what they have achieved so far.

Q: What are you interests outside of work?
A: My life is full with home life and work and I have very little time to pursue hobbies but I do enjoy a good book, when the house is quiet and I enjoy travelling particularly cruising so that I can wake up in a new city/country each morning with a new place to explore.I’m not really into sports but I am a bit of a ‘rugby widow’, my husband and sons both play and watch rugby league. I try and recharge my own batteries whilst they are enjoying their love of the sport.
