Trust, Confidentiality and Communication

We recognise that it is important to be able to trust your lawyer.

The reasons for this are obvious – you have previously trusted a professional and had your trust abused. Can you trust another professional? You are certainly entitled to do so and we aim to offer a safe and secure environment in which to pursue your claim.

We realise from the outset that what occurred with the practitioner is likely to be very personal and sensitive, sometimes sexual, and we recognise that it is likely to be distressing for you to divulge such information to a stranger and another professional.

We do not judge our Clients, we pride ourselves in working in an open and down to earth manner and we recognise that “things happen”. We will work with you to try to minimise any distress you may feel in discussing such information.

Some of our Clients have concerns about issues or events in the past which they regret or are embarrassed about. It is important that you are open and up front with us as the more we know the more we can help.

We often find that Clients are more comfortable when discussing what has happened over the telephone rather than face-to-face, but again this is a personal choice.

Although within a claim there is documentation and information which we must disclose by law, we will discuss this with you and explore any concerns you may have in this regard.
