Medomsley Detention Centre – Physical Abuse Compensation Scheme extended

We are pleased to announce that the Medomsley Detention Centre Physical Abuse Compensation Scheme has now been extended.  Cut-off date was set last year for the 30 December 2021 and we are pleased to be advised today that that is now going to be extended until January 2023.The Physical Abuse Settlement Scheme has been in place since early 2020 and has been successful in enabling compensation to almost 2,000 survivors of physical abuse at Medomsley Detention Centre.

The Ministry of Justice have said that “the Government is committed to supporting victims of abuse and the Ministry of Justice is committed to ensuring those who have not yet advanced their claims have the opportunity to do so”.

 Should you wish to make an application please contact Caroline Chandler or Rob Casey at the Child Abuse Team. You will not be charged for this service and will receive 100% of your damages.
