Last night our Associate and Chartered Legal Executive, Linsey McDonald was named as the winner of a national award in London. The Family Law Awards are held annually and Linsey was named Chartered Legal Executive of the Year and described by the judges as a future leader.
Linsey has been at Switalskis since 2007 and in that time has achieved a great deal and frequently goes beyond her job role for the benefit of the business. She regularly deals with complex family matters which sometimes include domestic violence or challenging issues relating to arrangements for children and receives glowing testimonials from her clients for the care and support she provides.
It is Linsey’s contribution to her department and the wider team that really set her nomination apart though. Linsey was one of the first in the company to be awarded Associate status after completing our Associate Development Programme. Her project for this programme helped her develop a keen interest in the marketing of the business and she continues to provide valuable support and input to the marketing of the Family Law department.
For her project, Linsey developed a reporting structure to help the ongoing visibility of marketing effectiveness for the Family Law team and helped set up our regular networking events in Batley. In 2019 she has helped set up a second regular networking event in Knaresborough and is exploring further events elsewhere in the region.
Linsey has also helped fundraise for our chosen charity, Children’s Heart Surgery Fund and Children’s Liver Disease Foundation. Her fundraising efforts, which included a skydive have raised around £120,000 for these two charities and were inspired by her nephew Freddie who was diagnosed with a rare heart and liver condition.
Clare Peckett, Director and Head of Family Law comments:
“We’re all delighted for Linsey. This award is very well-deserved and reflects the hard work and determination she’s put in for a number of years now. I was particularly pleased to hear the judges describe Linsey as a future leader and I couldn’t agree more. She regularly goes beyond her job role to help other people and the wider business. Not only does she take great care of her clients, she has demonstrated an understanding of the business and the legal sector that will make her a very effective leader.”
All of us at Switalskis would like to congratulate Linsey on this well-deserved win and thank her for all that she does for the business and her colleagues.
