Linsey McDonald has been nominated for Family Law Chartered Legal Executive of the year at the Family Law Awards. The awards will take place on Wednesday 27th November.
Linsey is an Associate and Chartered Legal Executive based in Wakefield. She joined Switalskis in 2007, and became a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives in June 2008. She became an Associate in 2018 after successfully helping the family department develop their marketing strategy.
Linsey handles many aspects of family law, specialising in cases involving children. She has worked in some highly difficult and complex cases, with her clients’s well-being at the heart of her work. She exceeded her annual target by £25,000 in 2018, demonstrating her success in helping vulnerable children.
As well as this, Linsey regularly offers pro bono advice for local authorities. She attends their offices to advise people who may not usually be able to access or to achieve justice by any other means. She has also featured as a guest speaker on topics such as well-being for parents affected by mental ill-health.
Outside of her cases, Linsey is a great supporter of equality having set up a networking group for women in Knaresborough called “The Three C’s”. This enables women to connect and develop relationships outside of business. She is also a keen fund-raiser for Children’s Heart Surgery Fund and Children’s Liver Disease Foundation. Linsey’s nephew Freddie was diagnosed with Alagille Syndrome, a life-threatening heart and liver disease. Children’s Heart Surgery Fund have provided invaluable care. Linsey raised over £12,000 doing a sponsored sky-dive, among many other fundraising efforts. She has raised over £120,000 for both charities.
