Festive footprint features in Switalskis’ first “official” Christmas card

We are delighted to unveil our 2018 Christmas card created in partnership with Children’s Heart Surgery Fund.

Georgie Abbott with Switalskis’ Alison Kaye and Steve Dibb show off the chosen Christmas card design

On Wednesday 13 November, Switalskis Directors Alison Kaye and Steve Dibb met with Ellie Brown and Georgie Abbott from Children’s Heart Surgery Fund Corporate Partnerships team to choose the firm’s design.

Part of Children’s Heart Surgery Fund’s work is to ensure the babies and children who come to hospital have the best possible experience. The Play Specialists, Emma and Gemma, on Ward 51 at the Leeds Congenital Heart Unit are always on hand to make this happen with creative entertainment activities. This brings sick children cheer and comfort in an unfamiliar place, and distraction from the fears they may have.

Spreading the cheer in time for Christmas, Emma and Gemma have created a festive-themed card design. The winning reindeer designed with 11-month-old Lacey’s adorable baby footprint will be used for the firm’s first “official” Christmas card.

Alison Kaye said: “We have loved every moment working with Children’s Heart Surgery Fund and this project has been no exception. The creativity and care shown by the Play Specialists in helping to produce these designs is wonderful. Thank you to Lacey, the Play Specialists, and to CHSF for helping us create this beautiful card.”

Children’s Heart Surgery Fund have been Switalskis’ official charity partner since June 2017. A Yorkshire-based organisation, CHSF supports congenital heart patients in the region out of Leeds General Infirmary. Switalskis is aiming to raise £20,000 by June 2019, after smashing their initial £8k target and raising an incredible £15,386 so far.

As well as being sent to Switalskis’ corporate contacts, the Christmas cards will be made available for sale to staff and all money raised will be donated to the charity.

The “footprint paintings” were made by the Ward 51 Play Specialists with the babies and their families – we hope you like their work as much as we did! Please find Lacey’s winning design, as well as the other equally brilliant submissions, below:
