David Greenwood, head of Switalskis Child Abuse Compensation team, was recently featured onS4C TV channel as part of the Y Byd Er Bedwar documentary looking at child abuse within the Catholic Church, specifically at Caldey Abbey.

Caldey Abbey is part of the Cistercian Order. In 2016 allegations of child abuse at the Abbey starting in 1972 were investigated. Father Thaddeus Kotik was claimed to have abused several girls over the years.

David has worked on many of the cases against the Catholic Church, as well as previously having released a book that examines Child Sexual Abuse from an institutional perspective. The book, “Responding Badly,” discusses the culture and mechanisms within churches that protect the accused and marginalise survivors.

David Greenwood has also been a major figure in changing the law so that Church organisations are now responsible for the actions of their agents.
