The tragic death of Bronson Battersby made for very sad reading. It’s a matter of public knowledge that Bronson was known to social care and was classed as a vulnerable child.

Jane holds Higher Rights of Audience. She specialises in :
- Public and Private Law Children Proceedings
- Representing parents and children in proceedings brought by social care services, including care proceedings, Wardship, adoption and Education supervision orders
- Separate representation of children in care and private law proceedings
- Representing on DOLS applications for children and young people
- Provision of advocacy in all related proceedings before Magistrates, District, Circuit and High Court Judges
Jane has been a member of the Law Society Children Panel since 1996. She is a also a member of the following organisations:
- Sport Resolutions National Safeguarding Panel
- Football Association Safeguarding Panel
- England Boxing Sub-committee for Governance and Safeguarding
- International Rugby League Misconduct Committee
APPROACH
Jane is highly experienced in dealing with a variety of clients and can adapt her approach accordingly. She is frequently asked to separately represent vulnerable young people in proceedings by external colleagues due to her ability to engage with these clients. It is important to Jane to ensure that a client’s voice is heard and that any court proceedings progress fairly. Jane has over 30 years of advocacy experience and is able to advocate strongly on behalf of any client. She provides a quality service to all clients, including parents, young people and professionals.
