We asked Stephanie:
Q: What does being a Clinical Negligence Solicitor involve?
A: I run a Clinical Negligence caseload, from the initial investigation, right through to the settlement, or where necessary, to trial. Throughout the claims process I work hard to obtain answers for my clients, as I seek to uncover why things went wrong and what should be done differently in future. I also assist senior solicitors with large and complex cases.
Q: What do you enjoy about your job?
A: Working closely with my clients to achieve their goals, particularly when I am able to assist vulnerable clients. I deal with a range of clinical negligence matters – no two cases are the same – so there is a need for a high level of both medical knowledge and legal knowledge. I enjoy the challenges presented by the need to develop such wide-ranging expertise.
Q: What can clients expect from you?
A: A friendly ear and a good listener. I’m always happy to answer any questions that they have, no matter how big or small, to ensure that they understand the litigation process.
Q: What are your interests outside of work?
A: I love music and have been working towards my 8 grade 8 exam as an amateur pianist. I enjoy going to the gym and running, as well as walking in the peak district. I am also a season ticket holder at Manchester United, having been brought up and attended university there.
