We asked Olivia:
Q: What is your specialist area of work and why did you choose it?
A: Court of Protection health and welfare law. I was attracted to mental capacity law as it is still a developing area. It is also an area of law which I didn’t get to study at University and I have loved the opportunity to learn something new.
Q: What do you enjoy most about your job?
A: I like that you can really see the effect that you can have on an individual’s life when you are acting in their best interests. I have always wanted to help people in some way through my legal practice. Clients need clear advice, as well as a feeling of being supported throughout their case, so it is important to be both considerate and professional when dealing with Court of Protection work.
Q: What are your interests outside work?
A: I enjoy reading, music and travelling. One of my goals for the future is to travel to Canada.
