Laura Taylor is a Legal Executive Advocate in the Care team based in Wakefield.
Experienced child care lawyer Laura Taylor qualified as a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives in June 2004. She became a Legal Executive Advocate in January 2010, giving her expanded rights to represent her clients in the Family courts.
Based in Wakefield, Laura re-joined Switalskis Solicitors Child Care department in October 2018 after four years’ working within a local authority team. Laura brings her in-depth experience of child care proceedings to bear representing parents, as well as acting as an agent for local authorities.
We asked Laura:
Q: What can clients expect from you?
A: My clients can expect a compassionate but clear approach to the proceedings. I explain things in an easy, understandable way, to ensure that everyone knows exactly what to expect.
Q: Why did you choose to work in your specialist area?
A: I chose to work in Care proceedings as no two cases are the same, just like no two families are the same. I want to be able to help people through the care proceedings process and make sure that they have the support they need.
Q: What are your interests outside work?
A: Outside of work I am a keen runner. I am a UK Athletics Accredited Run Coach. I also enjoy attending music concerts, watching motorbike racing, and generally being outdoors.
