Claire is a Paralegal in our Clinical Negligence Department.
Claire Garrity has worked in the legal profession since 1996 and joined Switalskis team of Clinical Negligence lawyers in 2010. As a Clinical Negligence Paralegal Claire helps her clients through the frequently difficult legal process involved in negligence claims, to ultimately recover compensation for them.
We asked Claire:
Q: What is involved in your role as a Clinical Negligence lawyer?
A: It ranges each day from speaking to new clients to taking initial instructions and meeting with clients at various points of their claim, to obtaining medical records, instructing medical experts, attending conferences, issuing court proceedings, and negotiating settlements and costs on the conclusion of a case.
At all stages of their case, my clients can expect to deal with an approachable and down-to-earth lawyer, who will work hard on their behalf to achieve the best possible outcome.
Q: Which of your achievements are you most proud of?
A: Progressing from being an office junior in a law firm to now being a fee earner. I’m also proud of obtaining my legal qualifications by attending evening classes at college and through distance learning with CILEX.
