A sound understanding of crucial legal issues can be invaluable for professionals working with individuals detained under the Mental Health Act, or with people who lack capacity due to disability or mental or physical illness.
Our Mental Health department is able to provide training on all aspects of Mental Health and Mental Capacity Law.
We have also run courses for professionals working with homeless people, which covered the interface between housing law, homelessness, community care law and mental health/capacity law.
Department Head and firm Partner, Michael Kennedy, lectures in Mental Health and Mental Capacity law at Leeds Metropolitan University on courses for Social Work students, and the department has also provided training for medical professionals and Independent Mental Capacity Advocates.
If your organisation would like to arrange a training day, please contact our Marketing Officer, George Lockley, for more details. Email George on: events@switalskis.com
