Below are some of the most common questions clients ask our mediators

Click on any of the questions to find out more.

What are the benefits of mediation?

Is what we agree in mediation legally binding?

What if my ex-partner goes back on the agreement?

What if I or my ex-partner gets upset or angry?

Will the mediator give legal advice?

What will mediation involve?

How much will it cost?

The cost of going through the mediation process varies from case to case, however it is likely to be much lower than the cost of resolving your issue through litigation. At the time of assessment, our mediators will use their experience to estimate the number of sessions you are likely to need and the likely cost. If this changes at any time, we will keep you informed.

If you are concerned about the cost and do not qualify for legal aid funding, Switalskis Solicitors can offer a range of payment options to which will allow you to spread the cost of mediation, including low cost and interest free finance. See our section on funding your case for more information
