You may not have to attend a court hearing at all if you and your partner can agree about financial matters and arrangements for any children. If your case is straightforward it may be possible to complete the process by post. However, you and your partner may be asked to attend court proceedings if you cannot agree about arrangements for children or if you ask the court to make an order for financial support. Your solicitor will be able to advise you about your specific situation.
